Re: staying in a home/or condo .. which area would YOU choose?

thanks..

I highly suggest a beach front house on S Waccamaw Drive in Garden City. You%26#39;re close to wonderful restaurants, activities, the Garden City pier, arcades, shopping, parasailing etc. But the biggest reason is that you don%26#39;t have to fight the crowds for a spot on the beach. It%26#39;s beautiful in Garden City. You still have some of the excitement of being at the beach with the intersection of Atlantic Ave and S Waccamaw at the Pier but it also has a very private feel.

You are within 5 minutes of Miniature golf and other amusements, 10 minutes to Murrells Inlet, 15 minutes to Huntington Beach State park and Brookgreen Gardens, 20 minutes to Pawleys Island or Myrtle Beach proper and 30 minutes to either Georgetown or Restaurant Row.

Surfside Beach is also very nice but it starts to get crowded because of the many condos and hotels and motels. So the beach fills up quite a bit more.

Garden City Realty offers a lot of great homes on S Waccamaw Drive, both large and small.

All of these areas are really nice. I like Surfside but it seems kind of crowded to me. Cherry Grove is great but is pretty far away from the main Myrtle Beach attractions though so you might want to think about that, especially with kids. We like to stay in condos because they usually have amenities such as pool sand hot tub...most beach houses don%26#39;t have these or if they do, they%26#39;re extremely expensive.

Drive times from Cherry Grove aren%26#39;t as bad as they look on a map. short hop out to Rt 31 and it%26#39;s 65mph to within a couple of blocks of Broadway At The Beach.

Wide variety of accomodations. Condo buildings in all sizes and ammenities. Prince resort probably the largest and newest in Cherry Grove. Many houses ranging from older to fairly new.

My biggest like about the area is everything you could possibly need can be found on Sea Mountain Highway. Eliminates the need to fight traffic out on Rt 17 for a gallon of milk or loaf of bread.

Positives for Surfside and Garden City. Closer to go-karts and water parks. Unless you%26#39;re planning on those activites for everyday it might not be so important.

Also if not mistaken, a nasty ';H'; word hit that area in mid 80%26#39;s. Many of the units in that area are newer than those in Cherry Grove.

Might play with Sky Tour to compare the two areas.
