My husband and I are planning a long weekend in the MB area next weekend. While I am not a big fan of MB beach we are getting a great deal on a package at Litchfield Golf and Beach Resort at Pawley%26#39;s Island and have to decided to spend our birthdays there. Can anyone provide me with some ideas of fun and different things to do and see?
Thanks
Bored with MB! Can someone help??
I%26#39;m going to be down there next weekend, too! However, I LOVE MB! Next weekend is the Shrimp %26amp; Jazz Festival in Little River - we%26#39;ve never been, an I%26#39;m not big on either shrimp or jazz music, but we%26#39;re still going to check it out Saturday. That might be something different for you, too. Happy early birthday wishes!

Myrtle Beach is what you make of it.Being a deans wife I can understand how your bored. Go to eat at The Mayors House in Pawleys while your there. Also check out the marshwalk at dark in Murrells Inlet. Go skinny-dipping in the Atlantic.Go to Crocadile Rocks at Broadway. If you have good health dont complain about being bored.
It seems as if I offended someone by my comments about MB. Not my intention. I am fortunate, I live in South Carolina only 2 1/2 hrs from MB so there%26#39;s nothing special about going there for me. Just as others may not get as excited as I do when I get to go to Philly or New York City. I do understand that people love it and that%26#39;s their choice. Thanks for the suggestions.
By the way, Dean is a person not a job title.
Brookgreen Gardens!!!
Wow- I go to the beach to GET bored! LOL. It%26#39;s a place of relaxation for me. I love just sitting on the balcony watching the waves and the dolphins. Down south we like to visit the Hammock Shops and Brookgreen Gardens - as mentioned. Also- short drive south to Georgetown for a quaint town. Enjoy.
I know what you mean. I live an hour or two away from a bunch of beach towns with boardwalks which are very nice but if I had my choice between that and going to the mountains, I would most definitely pick the mountains. I do like the beach at times but when I go on vacation I like to keep busy and if you go to the beach year after year on vacation I could see it getting a bit boring. You have the right to your own opinion.
hmmm.. if you are bored in the Myrtle Beach area, stating your interests might lead to better suggestions.
Since you are going to be at Litchfield Beach you need to eat at La Playa in Pawleys Island 843-235-4013 WOW! Great latin, Caribbean, Mexican food! It%26#39;s awesome and very close to where you%26#39;ll be staying. I also strongly recommend The Mayor%26#39;s House in Pawleys Island 843-237-9082 (Fantastic)! While in Pawleys Island there is also the Island Cafe and Deli 843-237-9527 which offers specials including Lobster and Shrimp and massive hambergers as well! Just up BU17 in Garden City on the left is Nico%26#39;s of New York Italian restaurant 843-651-1528 Another awesome restaurant. Don%26#39;t let the small exterior fool you. If you%26#39;re looking for excellent food and an incredible view of the inlet and the ocean go to the Gulf Stream Cafe in Garden City on South Waccamaw Drive.
As far as things to do, take a short trip to Georgetown (just south of where your staying) and enjoy a day down there visiting plantations, maybe take a sailing cruise or enjoy dinner on Front Street. The Rice Paddy is very popular and right on the water!
You have the Hammock Shoppes in Pawleys Island, Brookgreen Gardens with all kinds of special performances and activities )not just the gardens). You can also go on a sunset cruise on the Great American Riverboat Company at the Waccatee Zoo 843-357-7047. How about Parasailing? I highly recommend the Marlin Quay Marina in Garden City for he best in Parasailing!
Maybe this will wet your appetite and stir up a little bit of something different for you while visiting Myrtle Beach this time!
I hope you both have wonderful Birthdays!
Ron
Agree with AACounty, state what your interests are and maybe we can help you get unbored.Bottom line deal or no deal it seems foolish to spend your time somewhere that bores you.Go to New York City and stroll Central Park at night, now thats exciting.
Have you offended me,not quite sure. Myself and many other people spend time time trying to help out people who are excited about coming to Myrtle not people who are only coming because they got a real good deal.I would say about 90% of the people who frequent this forum love Myrtle Beach and when you start your post with ';Bored with Myrtle Beach'; you do get some reaction.
My last trip to Myrtle I played World Tour and The Dunes golf course along with a few others.Enjoyed some great meals at The Dunes, The Mayors House and many other fine restaurants.Enjoyed the ocean and walking and jogging on the beach.Met an old friend of mine and his wife in Holden Beach and then had dinner in Calabash.Just being away from work and spending quality time with my lovely wife was enjoyable.
Twice within the last 4 years I have had to get my arteries unclogged. So when I sit out on my 16th floor balcony at night admiring the view along with my wife and 2 glasses of wine I thank God Im still in good health and can enjoy it.I am far from bored.
That%26#39;s funny....my husband I %26amp; always wonder where the people who live in our vacation spots go for vacation.
