seashells and seaglass /island /beach?

Hi, my husband and I will be there Saturday for a week, for our anniversary, and its our first time to MB%26gt; Anybody know where to go pick up sea shells and seaglass? I heard theres an island excursion thats really good somewhere, but cant find anything about it. Mostly planning on hanging out on the beach, staying at the Sea Dip, and relaxing, we%26#39;re on a tight budget this year! Thanks for all the great tips I%26#39;ve read here! I love the Trip Advisor site, especially reviews and forum.

Thanks in advance, sorry I am posting this so late! I leave on Saturday! LOL

seashells and seaglass /island /beach?

To begin with, the Sea Dip is in the heart of Myrtle Beach. North Myrtle Beach and Myrtle Beach are two seperate cities. You%26#39;re not the first to get them confused.

There is a 26th Ave north in both MB and NMB. You want to look at area south of where Rt 22 intersects with Rt 17. Just be sure to look on map and get your bearings before you get there.

Seaglass is rare. Seashells are hit and miss. I think weather, seasons and ocean temps have a lot to do with it. Some trips they are plentiful and the next they%26#39;re busted and crushed. Never know with Mother Nature.

Through the years I%26#39;ve found sand dollars and very small starfish along with assorted other small shells arounf MB and NMB. Have never seen a conch shell at MB but did find one at Cocoa Beach, FL several years ago.

Have heard of good finds at the inlet up in Cherry Grove which is at the far north end of North Myrtle Beach. To the south of Myrtle Beach are two State Parks. Have to pay to enter park but can usually find some good shells there.

Shark%26#39;s teeth are very popular finds. Have to be very patient. Some people walk along and find several while another might not see any.

The excursions you%26#39;re looking for are to the south of Myrtle. Murrell%26#39;s Inlet and Pawley%26#39;s Island.

Oops! Just realized I posted on NMB, but thanks for the info! I appreciate the direction help too, as I am directionally challenged! I will try the inlet and state parks if the MB beach is disapointing. My husbands childhood friend always came back with a pocket full of sharks teeth so thats exciting to hear! (I assumed he bought them at a gift shop hehe!)

Anyone ever hear of the fishing charter boats going to some island for sea shell hunting?

I live in Michigan, and have quite the seaglass collection from the Great lakes, but it is rare. Thats what makes it so worth the hunt!

Thanks again, and really appreciate all the great posts.

PS so how is the area in the heart of MB at the Sea Dip? Is it nice to walk around there?
