December cabin hiking - scenic locations to stay

My kids and I are driving from Orlando to DC this Christmas. We would like to spend a night or two somewhere';pretty'; on the way up or way down.

Any suggestions for cabins or areas that will meet our needs?

Hunting Island State Park has cabins. Some of them even have a fireplace. Definitely a nice place to stop and it%26#39;s on your way...
