Need Hotel, Things To Do, Etc....Please Help!

My twin sister, her 13 year old son, my 10 year old granddaughter, and myself are planning on visiting Myrtle Beach the week of October 8th. It has been years since either my twin or myself have been to Myrtle Beach. I have heard they are redoing a lot in way of hotels, etc... So, I don%26#39;t even know where to start....I will be more than grateful for any help.

First, the hotel..... we are a nice hotel with oceanfront rooms, nice indoor pools, and a good exercise room. We are going to be on a very, very tight budget!! So, if possible I would like to keep the price of the hotel less than $75 a night but even cheaper would be great. Still I want it to be a nice hotel.

Second, could anyone please tell me what sort of things are there to do for a 13 year old and 10 year old in Myrtle Beach during the week of October 8th? Are any of the parks still opened during this time? I have never paid much attention to the parks myself because I have never had kids traveling with me.

We all have never traveled before and my twin is leaving the planning of everything up to me. I want everything to be perfect and that%26#39;s the reason that I came here to the boards first for help because I know you all are the greatest! Thank you for everything.

Are you saying you want to spend $75.00 per paying adult? I am actually seeing some pretty good deals on rooms. Check the following out and see if they are of any interest.

-Try Grande Shores Resort (www.grandeshores.com) I see condos for $60.00 per night.

-Roxanne Towers (www.roxannetowers.com) seeing rates around $85.00 per night for an OF 1 BR Suite.

-Long Bay Resort (www.longbayresort.com) Restricted OF rooms and Ocean View rooms are around $60-$100.00 per night.

-Compass Cove Resort (www.compasscove.com) You can stay in any of their 3 buildings and get a nice suite/condo for under $75.00 per night. And their Oceanfront. Nice INdoor pools.

-Breakers Resort (www.breakers.com) They have lots of good deals. I would actually only recommend their Paradise Towers Building or the North Tower when making the reservations. Probably better to call just to make sure you are getting the right building. The Paradise Towers building is very nice and the indoor pools are decent there as well. Good location. I am actually seeing some rates around $65-$80. per night.

Dunes Village had a half off sale going and they have full kitchens. We haven%26#39;t been yet but the reviews are good. One thing I think we are going to do (and it is free) is the backstage hard rock park tour. MB is the mini golf capital so there is always that option. The USS Charleston is an option although you would have to drive an hour to Charleston. We enjoyed the alligator farm alot too. The aquarium is really nice but it is kind of pricey to me. I know they have a zoo somewhere in mb but we haven%26#39;t been there yet. Gokarts, laser tag, and maybe even magicquest could be hits! the 13 year old is going to be hanging looking for girls anyway. (I have an 18 year old and for the last several years that has been his main attraction anywhere we go)
