Great Place

We just spent a wonderful week on Seabrook. Everything we heard about this island is true. If anyone is looking for a relaxing vacation in great surrondings this place is a must visit. We will be back in the spring it was a welcome change from the hustle/bustle of Hilton Head. Freshfield Village has everything anyone would ever need and the local eateries were fantastic. My wife was amazed that the dolphins would follow her up and down the beach. We visited some of the other areas like Isle of Palms, Sullivan and Folly Beach and none could compare with Seabrook.

Great Place

I%26#39;m thrilled you had a wonderful time on Seabrook Island! It is truly a special place. Shhhh, let%26#39;s keep it to ourselves;-)

If you just returned, did you happen to witness the dolphin ';strand fishing';? One of my fellow Seabrookers took some fabulous photos (National Geographic type shots) last week of the dolphin strand fishing last week on North Beach.

Strand fishing is an event! The dolphin work together in their pod, swimming parallel to the beach. Once they%26#39;ve reached a certain speed, they throw themselves and the fish their trying to catch on shore. I suppose it could be a little frightening to see 4-6 dolphin ';beached'; on the shore chowing down on fish;-). I%26#39;ve been told strand fishing happens by dolphin only a couple of places in the world; South Carolina happens to be one of them. I%26#39;ll see if I can get my neighbor to post some of his pics.
