pregnant& procrastinated. in charleston this week! Need tips

Hello, We are visiting Charleston this week. Flying in from LA late thursday night. Will stay someplace by the airport (safe?). Friday/Sat/Sunday we are staying in Isle of Palms for a wedding. We fly back Wed night around 6pm. Does anyone have suggestions for what to do Mon/Tue/Wed. Should we stay in the the historic district? Is 3 days too much? Or 1 day in historic district and take a drive to Savannah? Do we need a car in Charleston?

I am 6 months pregnant and it%26#39;s our 1 year wedding anniversary. So would like easy and romantic.

The Wentworth Mansion in downtown Charleston has availability for those nights %26amp; although expensive, has some special Internet rates; it also has a lovely restaurant right on property.

We just got back (see post re: honeymoon) and stayed at the Charleston Place in the historic district. You do not need a car at all and while the hotel is expensive, it was worth every penny. It is so close to everything, literally across the street from the market and surrounded by great restaurants. Stay in the historic district for sure.

I don%26#39;t think 3 days is too much in Charleston because there is so much to see and do! Plus do you really want to be in a car travelling back and forth to Savannah? I think that will make your trip hectic. Savannah is nice, but you only need a day there. Definitely stay in the historic downtown! And if you do, you will not need a car. It is very difficult to find parking. Some hotel suggestions (varying in prices) but convenient to everything:

Charleston Place ($$$$$)

Vendue Inn ($$$) - Charleston charm

Holiday Inn (Mills House) ($$$$) - Charleston charm

King Charles Inn ($$) - Basic hotel more - great location; free parking

Ansborough Inn

Elliot House

Market! Do a carriage tour! Shop on King Street!

Great restaurants!

Enjoy!

Personally I would pick a place away from the airport which is the north charleston area. Id stay in Mt Pleasant, historic area, or daniel Island, etc. Theres alot to do there and its a very romantic city! Go straight to the visitors center when u get there and you will see all the brochures and get ideas on what to do. I love the farmers market in the square, the aquarium, ft sumter/harbor tour, ghost tours, plantations, etc.
