Accommodation for weekend

My family will be in Charleston for 3 nights on our east-coast trip and unfortunately they fall on a weekend...the hotel rates are extraordinary! We are %26#39;locked-in%26#39; to these dates (mid Dec) and won%26#39;t have a car. SO we are looking for accommodation for 5 within easy walking distance OR accessible by public transport. I read about Patriots%26#39; Point and wondered whether that would be a good location. We have 3 kids, 9, 12 and 16. It looks like a beautfiul city and we are interested in all the usuals...Fort Sumter, historic houses, waterfront and just soaking up the local atmosphere.

Accommodation for weekend

Patriots Point is across the river from the main downtown area of Charleston. You will need a car I think, if you plan on staying on that side of the bridge. Me personally, I love that area around Mt Pleasant. Just try and avoid any accomadation in the North Charleston area. I found this place online when I was looking for a place in Decemeber, it may help to call and see if they are running any specials for that time..hope this helps..

Accommodation for weekend

Holiday Inn Historic Distric and Best Western%26#39;s King Charles Inn are convenient to the sites, and they are not as pricey as many of the other downtown hotels. The Holiday Inn Historic District gets extremely good reviews.
