any casino's around myrtle beach?

just wondering if there are any casino%26#39;s in myrtle beach

any casino's around myrtle beach?

I would use that term ';loosely'; but yes. We have 2 casino boats (actually to me they look more like rust buckets) but they are docked in Little River, right down the road from me. They go out 2 times a day for about 5-6 hours, you have to go 3 miles out into International Water and are only allowed to gamble about 1-1/2 hrs, the rest of the time on board is getting to and from International Waters. I believe its like $40 to board, which includes a buffet, but you can usually find coupons for free boarding. I can%26#39;t believe they would charge to get on those things. The noon trip might not be too bad you at least can sit outside, if you can find a chair, and look at the ocean, at night you see nothing, you basically can do nothing when gambling is not open.

so no big glorious casino%26#39;s anywhere around it seems? that%26#39;s okay just wondering

The closest I guess is Cherokee Casino on the Cherokee Indian Resort in mountains of Western NC. That would be quite a haul, about 6-1/2 to 7 hours from the beach.

well that%26#39;s out! No Casino%26#39;s means no loss of money...that%26#39;s a good thing...what%26#39;s the weather like today?

Its beautiful, 80%26#39;s and sunny, its a bad thing to have to be indoors today. I ran up to Tanger Outlet mall at lunch bought few things for our trip to Key West, it was almost impossible to walk back in the building, especially since I have no windows around me. Its the type of day many people visiting will probably end up with sunburns :o)

awww..hart...

150 more days for me....

Its a true statement, it is so beautiful you do not want to go inside, just like last week. Was at a meeting at Kingston Plantation last week Thurs/Fri and several High School Cheerleading squads from CT and NJ were down for weekend and those little girls were fried by the end of the day, they laid out by the pool all afternoon. You forget to use sunscreen when its just so lovely out.

alljemms,

I took the casino cruise last year by myself and had a ball. The boat is not like a rust bucket at all. As a matter of fact, I thought it was clean and the staff was very helpful. Yes, you do only have a little time to gamble oh about 3 hours worth but, look how much you%26#39;ll save from losing. You can eat, drink and be merry. I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ll have a good time. Hey, it beats driving 7 hours.

did you look at the outside of the ships? I wonder when was the last time they were inspected? It would not appear to have enough small life boats. At low tide the ships have been known to run aground, which means you sit there until the tide comes back in.

The gambling cruises, IMO, fill an entertainment void for the area. Yes, I agree if you are boating on the waterway, and get a chance to see them from that perspective they dont look much better than some of the ferries that I used to see while vacationing in the Phillipines. However, they do go thru pretty intense inspections by the coast guard on a regular basis --- and I would think with that type of inspection they would be required to have ample life saving apparatus (lifeboats/vests) on board. As for running aground and having to sit there until tide comes in.......to my knowledge this has only happened once, and was caused by another boat not giving way (the cruise boat had the right away) and made the captain cut his course a bit short....the trip is not for everyone, but for some its the only way that they get to see this area from the water prespective. You arent ';required'; to gamble if you board, the staff is pleasent and the entertainment that they offer on the way out and back can be decent.
