We just got back yesterday %26amp; had a great trip. We were worried that the weather would be terrible all week (based on weather channel) but it was hot %26amp; sunny almost all week.
Stayed at Surfside in a condo for the first time %26amp; loved the area. The places on both sides of ocean drive were refreshingly tidy. We didn%26#39;t see as many ';eyesores'; as we often do in MB %26amp; NMB.
We walked about an hour each morning %26amp; then spent most days relaxing on the beach. Most evenings we went out for dinner %26amp; stopped at a few shops. Lazy Gator in MI was fun to look around in. We went to Tangier Outlet on one rainy afternoon. Walked around Broadway at the Beach one evening %26amp; Barefoot Landing another. Carolina Winery at Barefoot is a cute place with wine tasting. For $2 you can taste 7 wines %26amp; for an extra $1 you keep the logo glass. Pretty good deal for $3.
Once again, we relied on Trip Advisor reviews to pick our restaurants %26amp; were very happy with our choices.
E Noodles in NMB is our new favorite place! We always try to avoid ';repeats'; (too many great places to try) but loved it so much that we decided to go back. Unfortunately, we chose the MB location the 2nd time, since it was closer. The food was still great, but the atmosphere was unwelcoming, to say the least. Felt like we were intruding. The north location, on the other hand, had wonderful service %26amp; couldn%26#39;t do enough to make sure you were taken care of. The served a complimentary soup while waiting for our food. Prices are very reasonable.
Crystalite Cafe is an adorable little place. The outside doesn%26#39;t look like much, so don%26#39;t let it fool you. We would have passed by without a 2nd glance if not for Trip Advisor. We had breakfast there, but the lunch menu %26amp; desserts looked so good that we wished we had done that instead.
Also had breakfast at Nibils. It%26#39;s a very friendly little place. Also reasonable prices.
Used our restaurant.com $25 certificate at Luigis. It was delicious. My husband had a mixed seafood entree that he said is the best meal ever. Everything tasted homemade %26amp; authentic Italian. I%26#39;m not sure why they chose the open kitchen concept in such a small place. It was noisy %26amp; chaotic, so don%26#39;t plan on a quiet relaxing meal inside. We would choose outdoor dining next time, but will definitely return.
Bubba%26#39;s Fish Shack in Surfside was ok. It was good, but we felt the prices were high for such basic food.
Drunken Jack%26#39;s is one of our favorites. It gets mixed reviews but we%26#39;ve been going for about 10 years %26amp; still love it. The filet mignon was delicious %26amp; of course, the hush puppies are addictive.
Another great week at the beach...it%26#39;s always so sad when it%26#39;s time to leave.
Trip Report
Hey, so glad to hear you had a great week. I was wondering how the weather was going to be. Super report! I%26#39;m glad youhad a chance to try Crystalite Cafe. We really like it as well. We almost went to Luigi%26#39;s but didn%26#39;t have a chance. So I had to return my certificate when I got home and they pleasantly gave me a $25 credit to my account. Restaurant.com is so great to work with.
We also missed NIbils. What was it like? I%26#39;ve always wanted to go there but it just never pans out. Also, what kind of restaurant is E Noodles? I%26#39;ve never heard about it.
Glad you%26#39;re back safe and sound and had a good trip.

Trip Report
Thanks for the E Noodles suggestion. I%26#39;m always on the lookout for good noodles. I found the website: enoodlesmb.com.
Great report. Thanks for the restaurant info. I have written down others but always end up losing my info. I love taking my morning and evening walks on the beach. You meet so many nice people too.
Ron,
Nibils is just a friendly, basic restaurant at the pier. There are windows all along the ocean side so you have a great view. We just had breakfast, but as we were leaving, we saw their dinner special sign. Dinners such as scallops, shrimp, etc. (your choice) along with sides %26amp; a soft drink for $10.95. I%26#39;m sure it wouldn%26#39;t be particularly ';fancy'; food, but we were thinking it would be a good place to go when we have our grown sons %26amp; their girlfriends with us (aka, when we%26#39;re paying :) .
E Noodles is an Asian Bistro. Seems to be a mix of Thai, Japanese, Chinese, etc. Yummy! We really don%26#39;t like Chinese buffets, so it%26#39;s a real find for us.
Thanks for all the suggestions.
Great report ! Thanks for taking the time to write it up.
The open air kitchen at Luigi%26#39;s is a big mistake. The appearance of the cooks when we were there left lots to be desired.
Try Mayors House in Pawleys Island if you ever get to stay down South of Myrtle again.
