Looks like they have some really low cost flights out of Greenville.
Has anybody flown on Allegiant?
I never have but kbow people who flew to disney when they had their 99 dollar special and they had no problems
Has anybody flown on Allegiant?
I have flown on Allegiant, to St. Petersburg, and I liked it. The thing to remember is that in order to get the lowest fare, you have to book way in advance. I looked online one night and the fare was like $49 each way. The next day, one way had changed to like $89!
They were on time, the airplane was ok. We forgot a carry-on item on the airplane, and they were nice enough to ship it back to us on the next flight they had coming to Greenville.
Beware of the extra money you have to pay , though. It won%26#39;t just be fare plus taxes. You have to pay for each piece of baggage, and for seat selection.
For informational purposes, it looks like the additional fees are as follows:
Selecting seats at time of purchase, $11 per person per flight (each leg).
1 Bag, $6
2 Bags, $16
So, if 2 people are flying from GSP to Las Vegas and want to select seats when they book the flight. One person checks 1 bag, the other checks 2, fees are as follows:
Seat Selection, $11/flight/person for a total of $44
Baggage, $16 for person A, $6 for person B, for a total of $22.
Total seat selection/baggage fees: $66
I%26#39;ve flown Allegiant, though not out of Greenville. They are cheap but will nickel-and-dime you if you are not prepared for that. They offer no free beverages or pretzels, so take your own food and drink on board because theirs are pricey. Take a book too... no in-flight entertainment, but most are shorter flights anyway.
If you book your flight using any method other than standing at their ticket counter, they will charge you for the ';convenience'; of booking online or by phone. Keep in mind that their ticket counter is usually only open 2 hours before their flights, so you have to know when the flights are and when to show up if you want to book the tickets without paying a fee.
Also, you have to pay extra if you want to sit with other people in your party. Unless you have kids or are squeamish about the possibility of sitting next to strangers, I wouldn%26#39;t pay the extra money. I want to say it was something like $11/pp each flight segment? You have a good chance of sitting together anyhow if you have a small party. My hubby and I flew on full flights from Knoxville to Vegas and back, we didn%26#39;t pay the extra fee, and they had already seated us together!
I would fly with them again in a heartbeat. The price was right!
This airline is the same type as Spirt Airlines.Priced right, comfort is second. The positive is that they are offering flights to Greenville
from Ft. Lauderdale, which is where I live and soon to be relocating to Anderson or around that area. Iam glad, I was beginning to worry about traveling.
I was planning to go to Vegas from GSP but they have now cancelled all their Vegas flights after the first week in December. We were planning on New Years in Vegas....oh well....I had to call them. They did not notify me. I just happened to see it on the news yesterday.
