There is a 70-mile stretch of shore between Charleston and Pawleys Island that I%26#39;ve never explored, and it intrigues me.
Anything cool to explore? Any little oceanfront motels that are worth checking out? Sightseeing?
This can include Georgetown and Pawleys, as I am fairly unfamiliar with those areas.
Between Charleston and Pawleys Island?
Any takers on this? :)
Between Charleston and Pawleys Island?
I came across the area several times. But: There are no villages and hardly any roads, except Hwy 17. The only little town east of it is McClellanville, it sits on the Intracoastal. On the other (ocean oriented) side of the ICW are tidal creeks and small unpopulated islands. Some belong to Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge. Several of the islands have beaches, but I think most of them are accessible by boat only. It sure is a beautiful area, yet completely undeveloped. Which is nice, IMO.
There is a Sea View Inn on Pawleys Island and you can sure find several hotels/ motels in Georgetown, although not ocean front.
Thanks Mutze. I did come across Sea View Inn in my search and thought it looked interesting. I will also check out McClellanville.
