Boutique Hotel in Columbia?

Looking for charming or very contemporary accommodations in Columbia. Would prefer the inn/hotel to have a pool. During my searches, I ran across Claussens Inn, but the reviews indicated bad plumbing, poor service and shoddy upkeep. Any other suggestions?

The nicest hotel we have in Columbia is the Marriott downtown. They have an indoor pool. The Inn at USC is a nice hotel, but I don%26#39;t think they have a pool, and it does not have a lounge/restaurant on site.

The new Hilton is a very good place to stay. I wouldn%26#39;t call it ';very contemporary'; but it does have some charm to it. I know it has a pool.

People love the Hampton Inn on Gervais St., which is actually the #1 ranked hotel in Columbia on Trip Advisor. It also has a pool.

The Inn at USC has a whole lot of charm (it was built around a historic house and another building, and the historic house contains two or three luxury suites now), but the previous poster is correct -- no pool. You can, however, use USC%26#39;s pool at the Wellness Center, which is AMAZING - %26lt;http://campusrec.sc.edu/WFC/default.html%26gt;. To learn more, visit www.innatusc.com.

You may want to try the Whitney Hotel. It is an older hotel undergoing rennovations in a residential neighborhood. Each room includes a kitchen and a sitting/den area. It has a pool. While it is not fancy, it is very nice. My relatives stay there %26amp; they are quite happy with it each time. Also, an excellent breakfast.

Have a nice stay!
